To Eat or Not to Eat, the Choice is Clear

It's cold...wait, I think I said that yesterday. Anyway, it was too cold to go to the park for park day, so one of the homeschooling moms in our group opened up her house to let all us in to play. You know what? One day, I'm gonna grow up to be just like her. (Yeah...she reads the blog.)

Unless I decide my crowd-of-people-in-my-house total anxiety disorder is way more fun than hosting a group-wide play date! Ack!

Actually, I get to test that theory on Friday when the whole co-op group comes TO MY HOUSE to wrap up their Lewis and Clark semester. Because of the lake and all. I'll be sure to report on that as soon as I stop hyperventilating and recover.

In order to be at my most efficient-est this morning, I started some chicken leg quarters in the crock pot and left them swimming in a pool of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for a few hours. Can I just say the resulting concoction was a-mazing. If I weren't on a minimal-food diet for the next sixteen days, I'da eaten the whole pot-full by myself and made the rest of the family eat hot dogs.

And, yes, I'm back to the business of not-eating. I am fully aware that ultra-low caloric intake coupled with copious amounts of water and moderate exercise will result in my losing up to a pound a day.

I have sixteen pounds to lose before the annual holiday party. Yipes!

See, I wasn't sure there'd even be a party this year, so I wasn't overly concerned with gaining a little weight here and there since the last party when I was a delightful size 4. And then yesterday, I learned that there was certainly going to be a party, and hurrah! we were invited. Oops.

Now don't bother sending me any notes saying what an unsafe method I've chosen to lose weight fast. I KNOW THAT. But I'm not inclined to care overmuch. These people see me once a year and by golly they'll see me at my best or else! Yeah, I know it's vanity in the purest form, but, oh well.

I'm off to walk another 3.5 miles on the treadmill to match the distance I walked this morning. I'll keep you all up to date, thereby making myself accountable for regular progress reports, and you can cheer me on or not as you like.

Day 1 146 lbs.
